Parry examines Trump’s ego and sociopath tendencies.  After his election, Donald Trump had a narrow path to a transformational presidency, but it required breaking the neocon grip on U.S. foreign policy and telling truth to U.S. citizens. Already, Trump has failed.

As President Trump was launching his missile strike against Syria, CIA Director Pompeo and other intelligence officials weren’t at the table, suggesting their doubts about Bashar al-Assad’s guilt.

President Trump’s acceptance of National Security Advisor Flynn’s resignation marks Official Washington’s first big success in neutering Trump and killing hopes for a détente with Russia.  Hysteria over Russia gained added strength because Democrats were so angry over Trump’s election that liberal and progressive operatives saw a chance to build a movement and raise lots of money by pushing the Trump-Putin accusations.

This opportunism has turned much of the liberal/progressive community into a pro-New Cold War constituency willing to engage in a new breed of McCarthyism by demanding intensive investigations into alleged connections between Americans and Russians.

The mainstream U.S. media is all atwitter about Russia having to pay a price for hacking into Democratic emails and supposedly tilting the U.S. election to Donald Trump, but the evidence still is lacking.

In a backhand way, The New York Times admits that the U.S.-backed “moderate” rebels in east Aleppo are fighting alongside Al-Qaeda jihadists, an almost casual admission of this long-obscured reality.  President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and much of the U.S. establishment developed policy that allied America with Al Qaeda.

Mr. Parry criticizes both US policies in the Middle East and Afghanistan, going back to the 1980s and the US media’s sycophantic coverage of it, noting that some of the same reporters who beat the drums for Iraq war are doing the same regarding Syria, ignoring that facts on the ground showing US to be in a defacto alliance with Al Qaeda in the battle for Aleppo, a fact also ignored by US politicians including Clinton whose plan to implement a “no-fly” zone over Syria risks another war.
